I am participating in the Biannual Blogathon Bash Challenge this weekend. I have made the commitment to work on ALL of my blogging to-dos for 24 hours over the 72 hour weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Am I crazy? Probably, but since leaving this blog idle for most of 2012, I really, really need to get things done around here. So, after this weekend is over, I hope to be working ahead of schedule, not playing catch-up all the time! If you’re a blogger and need a kick in the pants to get your blogging to-do list DONE, then you ought to check out the challenge – there’s still time to join (and you can win prizes too – BONUS).

My action plan:
The challenge runs from 8 am Friday through midnight on Sunday this will be easily do-able if I plan to work 8 hours each day during the challenge (of course, things have changed drastically since I signed up for this challenge – I am working all day Friday, so will commit 4 hours tonight to the list and work 10 hours Saturday and 10 hours Sunday). I still need to work out how best to attack the huge mountain of blogging to-dos I need to get done. First things first is to prioritize all of these items, and then decide when I will work on what. I think it would be a great time to break out the pomodoro technique again, this will allow me to focus and take regular breaks throughout the 3 days, plus it just might kick start my concentration and focus again. I can use WorkRave while working on the computer and pomodroido on the smartphone when I am writing articles.
List of things I want to do during this 24 hour challenge:
- Weed out plugins that I am not using – add new ones that I’ve decided to use – DONE!!
- Catch up on all reviews/sponsored posts – write them up and get them scheduled to post – NEARLY DONE!!
- Re-vamp all policy/guidelines pages
– DONE!! - Put together a media kit and one sheet – IN PROCESS
- Back up the blog – DONE!!
- Write and schedule 4 frugal living posts
- Write and schedule all MPM posts for the month of February
- Write and schedule all 10 Days to a Frugal Valentines Day series of posts (2/1 – 2/10)
- Re-vamp the RBE program – DONE!!
- Re-do + add to the drop down main menu on the blog
- Work on a site map
- Get to inbox zero (in my blogging email) – NEARLY DONE!!
- Bring all blogging notes, ideas, resources, etc. in Evernote, OneNote, Planner, Journal and KeyNote NF into one consolidated notebook. DONE!!
- Make checklists listing the things I need to do after a post goes live on the blog – be sure to include separate ones for product reviews, book reviews and giveaway posts
- I would also like to try to participate in some of the mini-challenges during the challenge as well, if possible.
- Add email subscription box to sidebar – DONE!!
- Make a “start here” page
- Add subscription box to end of each post
- Make a services offered page
- Put up a sponsorship page
- Work on button and weekly link-up
- Go through all old posts to make all “material connection” links rel=”nofollow”
- Make a list of current memes/link-ups to join
- Re-research and write promotion sites that I can add giveaways to
- Add facebook like box, twitter follow button and google plus add to circle button to my sidebar. – DONE!!

Wow, that is a ton of stuff! I just have general ideas but yours are VERY specific. Hmmm….
Oh and real life happens before blogging. RIght? lol

Yes, real life has had to happen before blogging. I spent my whole day at work thinking about what I needed to do this weekend, hence the detailed to-do list
Thanks for stopping by

Looks like you have a super busy weekend ahead of you! What a fantastic and long to-do list, looks like you are off to a wonderful start so far
Thanks! I am probably biting off way more than I can chew, but I really need to get these things done. If I don’t finish this weekend, maybe I’ll challenge myself next weekend to complete them all!
Thanks for stopping by,
Theresa

I’m working all weekend so I got a late start as well…awesome to-do list. I think I need to ‘steal’ some of those to do for myself!
Good luck and I hope you have a productive weekend!

Hey, thanks! It’s gonna be a busy, long weekend, working on all these items, but they have been sitting on my list long enough. Good luck with yours as well.

wow great list. Yes, life interfered with my blogging plans. I only began the Blogathon2 today. I like the idea of striking through the items done on your list. Excuse my ignorance, but how do you do that?

Hi Retha! I just started my job this week (after I had committed to this challenge) – so I’ve had to rearrange my plans a bit, but I’m up for it. There are just so many things that I need to get done.
As for the striking through on my list, I go into my html (text if you are on WordPress) and code it there. The code for it is
and you just type between the opening and the closing code to have a strike through (does that make sense?).Theresa recently posted..Frugal Experiments From Around The Web – Weekly Round-up 1/26/2013
Thanks Theresa, Did I miss something – what is the code?
Congrats and good luck with new job

Oops, the comment system “ate” the html code. You place the word strike in html brackets: <> before the sentence you want to strike through and then you place /strike between html brackets: <>.
HTH!

After reading your to do list I need a nap. Then I look again and see all you have already done. Awesome, you go. I hope once it is over I can say I just got one thing done. Have a good time and do not forget to have fun. If you have time check out my challenge at http://mommiespointofview.blogspot.com/2013/01/winter-blogathon-2013-kickoff_26.html
LOL! Believe me, most of it is just routine, quick little fixes that I just haven’t taken the time to do! I just needed this type of challenge to give me a swift kick in the pants to get me going.
I’m heading over to check out your challenge post now.

Wow that’s quite a list! Good job on getting some things accomplished. Also the blogathon actually goes to 8am Monday so you can stay up Sunday night as late as you can to get things done.

Thanks, Kathleen! I am so grateful to you for putting this Bash together, it’s giving me the incentive to get all the little (and big) things done that I haven’t gotten around to.
I’m more of an early riser than a night owl these days, so I don’t think I’ll be staying up late Sunday, but I’ll continue to work on my to-do list even after the challenge is over.
Have a great weekend!
